Finally an update, a year
has gone by already and I *still* have not forgotten about this puny little
website yet :D.
Activity levels are very low, just 22 demos for this update, but people still
contribute a bit every now and then.
Black Plague Max :
Hitherto did H2F2 in 3:25.
Bruno Vergílio did a come back with H4F5 in 9:06.
A newcomer, Mikhail Volkov, did H4F6 in 4:45 cutting over 6 mins from
Bruno’s old record.
Nightmare speed :
Hitherto did
H2N2 in 0:42.
JC did H4N6 in 1:26 and H5M7 in 1:55.
Pacifist :
Kimo Xvirus,
new to heretic but not to Doom!, equaled the speed record on H1P1 in 0:27
Hitherto did H2P2 in 0:59.
I found an old demo from QWERTY , H6P2 in 1:13.
Smite Meister Max :
Hitherto did

Vv has released an improved
version of the patcher as well as a new SETUP.EXE. It includes :
- option to display the e4 and e5 times in the stats screen
- option to toggle mouse double click ON/OFF
- option to set a fixed playdemo speed (for computer that are too fast with
timedemo)
- setup.exe allows to set the use artifact key
- option to remove limits such as VPO, HOM, sprites and savegame buffer

- possibility to remap the talk keys in network games
- option to disable the Q key while recording a demo

rules / info section, it is based loosely on the compet-n rules. The pacifist
category has been opened, so I hope to see some demos soon.

All of you probably thought
this site was dead, and I must admit that, yes, it was for a long while. The
idea of resurrecting it came when playing a Kama Sutra coop on zDaemon with
Genex (also know as Angus Thermopyle). He showed some interest in making
heretic demos using the hack vv had developed. And it suddenly came to my mind
that very few people had it. So it’s probably better to release it late
than never !! J. With some luck Angus will help me
complete a maxkills demopack. Actually anybody is very welcome to do so! When I
get enough demos, I will update the table up here or on Doomworld’s
forums.

Unfortunately there are no
windows port of heretic that can perfectly play heretic.exe demos… but
there is some hope, Quasar has been working on a petition to get the heretic
and hexen source codes released under the GPL, which means it would be much
easier to get a decent heretic.exe compatible port (notably by using code from
prboom and chocolate doom).

on her request, introduced 2 more maps : E6M1 and E6M2 (E6M3 exists but has no
exit). Those new maps are, of course, accepted for all available categories.

cool demos, mostly skill 4 speed. I also did some nomonsters to fill the

H2s1 in 0:22, H2s7 in 1:10 (with a brand new wings trick), H3s1 in 0:28 and
H4s5 in 1:35. He also broke the 2 mins in H4s3 in 1:58, and did H1s1 in 0:28,
the last one was brought to 0:27 by me.

Only one skill
5 demo for this update, Radek did H3b1 for the 1st time in 0:40 (it also
includes the tornado trick).
